Once I had a client query me on my quote after she received two much higher bids from larger design firms. I smiled and told her that those firms have a full staff to pay even when they have slow periods, so they have to make up for it by charging higher rates. I reassured her that, because I have subcontractors to take up any overload, I can keep my rates within reason. I also told her that instead of having to equip several people with computers and software, I have my own equipment and expenses. I then pointed out to the client that she wouldn't be dealing with a variety of people who would tell other people what needed to be done. She would be dealing directly with the designer creating her website - me. That eliminated any concerns about my prices being lower than others.
You may have noticed that I have chosen to use the 3rd person point of view on this site, instead of the first - myself. That is because of the fact, that if there is something I cannot do, I most likely can oversee subcontracting it to someone who can. Therefore, I have become we!
